Amelia and Henrietta
Amelia
[& Hen]Rietta
Amelia [& Hen]Rietta is a solo piece navigating the experience of grieving someone Amelia has never met; her grandmother Henrietta Kishter, who died suddenly when her mother was 15 years old. This is a piece for my mother’s mother. For the first time, Amelia will dive into their family’s history and Henrietta’s past by sharing found text from their mother’s diaries, photographs, & other historical documents in an effort to reach this ghost they do not know. The audience will play a vital role: bearing witness, searching with them, a fellow or a guide on a treasure hunt for feeling. This performance is part of Ghosts and Grief: A Collection, alongside In The Stead Of A Burnt Family Tree, I Stand.
